Description of the formula

  1. Calculating the Correlation Coefficient (CC) if not provided. 
    1. Find a study that reported the pre-, post, and change in SD in the intervention group (to calculate the CC(E)). And the pre-, post, and change in SD in the control group (to calculate the CC(C)).
    2. Calculate the CC in an Experimental intervention group (E). Click here to calculate the CC
    3. Calculate the CC in a Control intervention group (C) in the same way.

You now have two values CC (E) and CC (C). You can now find the average using this equation:

Use this average CC to calculate the change from the baseline

Correlation coefficients lie between –1 and 1. If a value less than 0.5 is obtained, then there is no value in using change from baseline and an analysis of final values will be more precise
