Calculate the Change in Mean and SD from the Baseline
Description of the formula
- Calculating the Correlation Coefficient (CC) if not provided.
- Find a study that reported the pre-, post, and change in SD in the intervention group (to calculate the CC(E)). And the pre-, post, and change in SD in the control group (to calculate the CC(C)).
- Calculate the CC in an Experimental intervention group (E). Click here to calculate the CC
- Calculate the CC in a Control intervention group (C) in the same way.
You now have two values CC (E) and CC (C). You can now find the average using this equation:
Use this average CC to calculate the change from the baseline
Correlation coefficients lie between –1 and 1. If a value less than 0.5 is obtained, then there is no value in using change from baseline and an analysis of final values will be more precise
- SD change calculation
- The tool utilizes the following formulas to calculate the change in mean and SD:
